THE MAIPs-UniSIRAJ HIGHER EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP
The MAIPs-KUIPs Higher Education Scholarship Policy
- The Asnaf MAIPs-UniSIRAJ Higher Education Scholarship is a funding for higher education by the Majlis Agama Islam dan Adat Istiadat Melayu Perlis (MAIPs). According to the terms and conditions, successful applicants will be fully funded by MAIPs and be offered to further their studies at Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin (UniSIRAJ).
- This Scholarship is only given to full-time students continuing their studies at the Diploma and Bachelor’s level registered under the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) and the Department of Higher Education (JPT).
- This scholarship aid is distributed to students according to categories which are: First Category: Asnaf Fisabilillah (Priority is given to students in need).
- Financing Fee Rate which will be financed by BPTM Scholarship:

PROGRAM IJAZAH SARJANA MUDA:
- Students will receive a Self-Support Allowance of RM300.00 per month. Payment of Self-Support Allowance is managed by the Bursary Department (depending on the sponsor’s decision).
- If a student is a BPTM Scholarship holder but is unable to continue their studies, the student must repay all costs that the University College has funded. Students themselves are required to check the amount at the Bursary Department.
- The University reserves the right to withdraw this Scholarship Aid if the student is found to be in breach of the scholarship loan contract or the regulations set by Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin (UniSIRAJ).

GENERAL TERMS:
- Applicants must be Muslim and non-Muslim students based on special approval from MAIPs Higher Education Scholarship Meeting.
- Priority is given to the poor and the needy asnaf fisabilillah and muallaf who deserve to receive.
- Already enrolled in the current intake.
- Funding is not provided for Foundation Programs.
- Funding is for full-time programs only. (Diploma and Degree Courses approved by UniSIRAJ)
SPECIFIC TERMS:
- Open to first-year students only. If a student FAILS to apply in the first year, the student is not eligible to apply in the following year.
- Applicants must not be over 35 years old at the time of application (subject to approval by UniSIRAJ Management).
- A minimum of three (3) credits in the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM).
- Obtain an Overall Grade Average (CGPA) of at least 2.00 and above, including General Studies for STPM/Diploma/Matriculation/Foundation/A-Level or a rank of at least Maqbul in STAM.
- The applicant does not receive any sponsorship or Scholarship from any party.
- Students need to apply for the MAIPs Higher Education Scholarship (BPTM) and get the funding approval for the MAIPs Higher Education Scholarship (BPTM) from Pusat Pengurusan Ehwal Pelajar (PusPEP).
MAIPs HIGHER EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP (BPTM) FUNDS THE FOLLOWING:
- Full sponsorship of Fees for the entirety of the study.
- Dormitory facilities are provided.
- Living Allowance/ Pocket Money provided.
- Payment of the Registration Fee on the registration day, and the fee will be repaid after receiving the MAIPs Higher Education Scholarship (BPTM) approval.
SCHOLARSHIP OFFER APPROVAL PROCESS
- a) The scholarship offer depends on the existing and current quota.
- b) Students in the Fisabilillah Category, i.e., those with income in the range (M40), will be assessed based on family income and total dependents. If passing the assessment, the student will receive a Scholarship Offer Letter depending on the current quota.
- c) The MAIPs Higher Education Scholarship offer letter (BPTM) will be given to students who are successfully funded by the scholarship within 60 days after the applicant makes the application at each time of the intake period every year, which is in February and September.
ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
1) DIPLOMA PROGRAM
– Minimum 3 credits in SPM
– Pass English
– International / Local students are subject to the academic qualifications set by the Department of Higher Education (JPT) as a condition to continue studying in Malaysia/Institutions of Higher Education (IPT).
2) DEGREE PROGRAM
a) Graduate of STPM/STAM
– At least a CGPA of 2.00 or above
– 3 credits in SPM
– At least Maqbul in STAM
b) Passed A Level
– 2 subjects passed in full
– 3 credits in SPM
c) Basic Graduate (from UniSIRAJ or others)
– Passed the Foundation Program (a minimum CGPA of 3.00)
– 3 credits in SPM
d) Diploma Program Graduate (others) – Passed in the Diploma field (a minimum CGPA of 3.00)
– 3 credits in SPM
e) Diploma Program Graduate (from UniSIRAJ) – Passed in the Diploma field (a minimum CGPA of 3.00)
f) International / Local students are subject to the academic qualifications set by the Department of Higher Education (JPT) as a condition to continue their studies in Malaysia/Institutions of Higher Education (HEIs).
APPLICATION REJECTION CAUSES
- Does not pass the screening criteria set by the Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin (UniSIRAJ) Management.
- For any incomplete and unclear application, the MAIPs Higher Education Scholarship Committee will not consider the application.
