Dana Wakaf Jamalullail

Introduction to Dana Wakaf Jamalullail (DWJ)
Dana Wakaf Jamalullail (DWJ), launched on May 25, 2023, is a cash waqf scheme in the form of perpetual waqf (the principal amount remains intact). Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin (UniSIRAJ) has been appointed as the Exclusive Waqf Trustee (Nazir Khas) by the Majlis Agama Islam & Istiadat Melayu Perlis (MAIPs) following the decision of the Mesyuarat Persidangan Majlis Agama Islam & Istiadat Melayu Perlis in 2022.
This initiative aligns with the principles outlined in the Hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah (r.a.), in which the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stated:
“When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.”
(Hadith by Ibn Umar r.a.)
DWJ operates by preserving the principal amount indefinitely and investing it in shariah-compliant instruments such as Islamic Fixed Deposit Accounts. Profits from these investments are utilized to support the Development of UniSIRAJ Students, emphasizing sustainable educational advancement and continuous research funding.
